Seminar for MSc. and Ph.D. students 1 · Winter semester 2026/27
Overview
The goal of the seminar is to prepare students for academic tasks and their life in the scientific community.
The main topics are:
- Preparing and administering grants, mainly GAUK (Grant Agency of Charles University)
- Practicing presentation skills
- Discussing various academic tasks: teaching and supervising, publishing papers and attending conferences, writing reports, foreign cooperation, and ethical questions

The seminar is taught in Czech and English.
Who the seminar is for
The seminar is designed for:
- First-year doctoral students, who are expected to write their first grant proposal, and
- Master students who are deciding whether doctoral study and academia would be an interesting option for their future career.
